Miquelet Lock Blank Firing Pistol

This Spanish Miquelet Lock blank firing pistol was originaly manufactured for use in the musical production of Zoro. However due to accidental damage it never made it to the stage on that occasion, but was later aquired by the Royal Shakespeare Theater Company and restored to working order and has since appeared in many stage productions.

The miquelet lock, combining battery and pan cover was the final link in the inovative chain that made the production of the true flintlock mechanism possible. The two major variants the spanish and the italian can be distinguished by the action of the mainspring. In the spanish miquelet this acts on the heel of the cock foot, and in the italian miquelet, on the toe of the cock foot.

If you are interested in a miquelet pistol Oak arms Ltd can produce one to suit your requirements. Either variant, the Spanish miquelet or the Italian miquelet with or without belt clip crafted as inert, or blank firing - for re-enactment or dress wear - or fully functional for the target shooter. To add a novel dimension to re-enactment we also make historic firearms in paintball variants.
